The last day and the food

After the caves we took a taxi to Garrapatero beach where we went snorkeling. On the way we saw another giant tortoise and a few birds. The giant tortoises love to eat this poison apple tree, but if any residue or sap get on our skin it burns.
The snorkeling was not very good because the visibility was poor, but I did see two huge eagle rays that snuck up on me .

There was a single frigate bird near the beach and a big red crab.

The sand here was so fine that when combined with the porous volcanic rock and pounding waves it produced a strange foam.

On the way back from the beach we stopped to pick some native tomatoes.

I added the tomatoes to my dinner and ate while the geckos were watching over us.

It was surprisingly less difficult as we had imagined to find vegetarian food. We had pasta and some very good native foods. There was Pan de Yuca, patacones (fried plantains), empanadas, and more.
