The harbor behind the bank is a busier place for the animals than the people. In the few minutes that I stood outside the bank I saw a sea lion, a frigate bird, several feeding pelicans and boobies, crabs, adult and juvenile marine iguanas eating, and an egret.

Arrival to Santa Cruz
The next day, Friday, we got up very early to get a boat back to Santa Cruz and left the nice little town of puerto Villamil behind.
When we arrived in Santa Cruz, we paid the bank and the surrounding inhabitants a visit.

We explored the thriving port town and checked in the “Hotel EspaƱa” a few blocks from the two main cobblestone streets.
